Stop me if you’ve heard this one before…
The pending gov’t shutdown (if it happens) expected today will also shutdown the NFIP (National Flood Insurance Program) which is a part of FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency).
No new policies, coverage changes, etc. will be processed while the agency is kaput. This may have an impact on real estate transactions requiring flood insurance. Don’t panic, we got this. The private market will be functioning fine and can handle many of the same insurance risks.
Perhaps our politicians in DC can do their jobs instead of using gov’t shutdowns for their self-serving political posturing.
