Auto crashes in 2020 resulted in 8% more deaths than in 2019 according to the National Safety Council on a national level.  That’s while miles driven is down.  When measured as deaths-per-miles-driven the fatality rate is up 24%.  Speeding is a factor, but so is substance abuse while driving.  Hopefully, we’ll see a corresponding decrease as we get closer to ‘normal’.
