Tropical Storm Fiona developed east of the Leeward Islands late Wednesday evening, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC). On Wednesday, the system became more organized and was designated the 6th named storm of the year.
What’s that mean? Not much. It is not likely to strengthen significantly and poses minimal threat to the East Coast. But it’s a reminder: Don’t forget it’s hurricane season.
