Goodbye, Leia.
Leia, our office dog, passed away September 24th, 2025.
Excuse us if we’re a little off our game this week.
Thank you for all the treats, scratches, friendliness and affection you gave her. None to that one crazy woman who came in and the first thing out of her mouth is “I don’t like dogs.” Well, we didn’t like you, either.
Leia was the best companion dog. Didn’t bark (except at other dogs or critters she wanted to chase), whine, whimper, jump up, was demanding or anything. Unless you smelled interesting. Then she would come over and check you out and look at you expectantly if you might have something for her. Oh, and she liked having her butt scratched, too. Not a lot of takers on that one. But she’d usually come over and kinda make sure you noticed her and maybe get a scratch from you. If you were one of the rare visitors that she especially liked she would promptly lay down on your feet. Not at your feet, ON your feet. But, usually she was just present. You’d forget she was there and be more likely to trip over her than notice she was even there. And she was always there.
This office is our second home. And our pets make our homes more welcoming, cozy, comforting, warm… They make it home. And our home is a little – no, a LOT – emptier, now.
Go hug your dog, cat, whatever.
